Good News: Senate Reduces The Age Limit To Run For Any Political Office In Nigeria
#NotTooYoungToRun! Above is the new age qualification to run for a political offices as approved by the Nigerian Senate during the constitution review exercise yesterday.President of The Federal Republic is 35 years
Governor of every of the 36 states is 30 years
Federal and State Houses of Assembly is 25 years.
This is a good news to the Nigerian Youths. Some of the youths had a peaceful protest at the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 25th where Senator Dino Melaye addressed them and promised that the matter would be looked into and now the promise has been kept and the age has been reduced.
Before now, a person must be at least 40 years of age to be elected President or Vice President, 35 to be a Senator or State Governor, and 30 to be a Representative in parliament.
