Police Parades Seven Kidnappers Terrorising Abuja/Kaduna Highway (Photos)
The Nigeria Police Force in its renewed determination to prevent crime and criminality throughout the country has arrested a seven-man vicious kidnappers responsible for several kidnapping and armed robberies and cattle rustling on Abuja/Kaduna highway.
Parading the suspected kidnappers at the Force Headquarters, Abuja on thursday, July 13th, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Jimoh Moshood, gave their names as:
1. Ibrahim Gurgu (Principal suspect)
2. Abdulazeez Idris (Principal Suspect)
3. Shuaibu Ibrahim (Principal Suspect)
4. Ibrahim Isiyaku (Principal suspect)
5. Usman Datti (Principal suspect)
6. Kabiru Musa (Principal suspect)
7. Haruna Umar (Principal suspect)
The police image maker also listed the following as exhibits recovered from the suspected kidnappers;
1 Ak47 riffle
2. Two (2) locally made pisto
3 Thirty (30) rounds of hire ammunition
4. One (1) magazine
5. Two (2) military camouflage
6. Three (3) cutlasses
7. Charms
He said the police special Force led by the Intelligence Response Team on July 8 and 9 2017 working on available intelligence swooped on kidnappers dens in Gwagwalada (FCT), Kangiri and Katari villages in Kaduna state and arrested all the above mentioned suspects and recovered from their possession the fire arm and ammunition listed as exhibits.
FPRO said "they voluntarily confessed and admitted to the various criminal roles they played in the kidnapped for ransom of motorists, travellers and other innocent people along Abuja/Kaduna highway. They will be charged to court on completion of investigation," he added.
CSP Jimoh Moshood further explained that "these operations along Abuja/Kaduna road will be sustained to ensure adequate safety of life and property of all Nigerians".
In an interview with newsmen, one of the principal suspects, Ibrahim Gurgu, confessed that they got the Ak47 riffle from someone that resides in Katsina state adding that "we use the gun for cattle rustling and kidnapping. We are aware that it is an offence to operate guns without license from the police. We rustled over 600 cows. All the exhibits you see belong to us. We Appeal to the police to forgive us" Ibrahim Gurgu added.
