Media aide to the immediate past president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has mockingly explained why there is no video coverage of the meeting between APC delegation and President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja House, London, on Sunday.
In a post he shared on Instagram, Omokri said it was due to the recent pronouncement by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed that the Federal Government will soon ban video production abroad.
APC chieftains published pictures of a meeting with Nigeria’s ailing President Buhari in London on Sunday.
Reacting to the reported meeting, Omokri said, “All ignorant people asking why there was no video recording of President Muhammadu Buhari’s interaction with the APC delegation, don’t you know Lai Mohammed banned foreign videos?
“Shooting and publicizing any such videos from London will be in contravention of the ‘relevant section of the Nigerian broadcasting code.
“According to Lai, in as much as our President is abroad, the only legal available to Nigerians who want to see him is through pictures.
“This is a law abiding administration and President Buhari will not like to break the law.”
