Star Wars actor, John Boyega criticises Game Of Thrones for having ‘no black people’

John Boyega has criticised Game Of Thrones for its lack of diversity in the show.

The 25-year-old actor has previously spoken out about diversity at London’s Screen Nation Awards, which he later apologised forstating complaining about the situation ‘is not going to benefit us’.

In a recent interview with GQ however, the Star Wars actor has criticized a number of successful franchises for not representing a diverse range of backgrounds.

Speaking to the magazine, Boyega said: ‘There are no black people in Game Of Thrones. You don’t see one black person in Lord Of The Rings. I ain’t paying money to always see one type of person on-screen.

‘You see different people from different backgrounds, different cultures, every day. Even if you’re racist, you have to live with that. We can ruffle up some feathers.’

Season 7 of Games Of Thrones started airing recently.
