Finland attack: Man shot by Police after stabbing people in Turku
Finland has been hit by a terror attack after several people were stabbed by a man who was with a knife in the southwestern Finnish city of Turku on Friday, police said after shooting and arresting the suspect.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing one or more gunshots and seeing at least one person lying dead on the ground. In a video purporting to show the aftermath of the attack, a scream of "Allahu Akbar" can be heard as people run in the street. The attack occurred in the city of Turku, in the southwestern part of the country.
According to the Tabloid Ilta-Sanomat, six people are injured, one man and five women - including a woman with a pram. Police shot a man in the leg before arresting him, according to reports. They are now looking for more suspects.
Officials have warned people to stay away from the area. Police have said they are upping security at Helsinki airport and train station in response to the incident.
