'Friendships' by Mannie

So each and everyone of us claim to have friends, some friendship begin and end in a particular geographical location, until they see themselves in that particular place, they are just by-passers. Having a friend is another thing, then having a group of friends who do not in any way bring anything positive to the table is another thing.


Having a group of friends, that not even one could tell you that you threading a wrong path. Believe me there is a problem and you should consider revising. Then if you and that person who always claim to be busy meet, and you say “i haven’t seen you in forever we should hang out more” over and over until one of you dies.

At least in your pack of friends there should be that one who is the adviser, the one who counsels and if you do not have that one or any at all, wonder how you get through the thick shade of life, friends make life a lot easier, look back on how your friends have helped you and imagine if they were not there, that 500 Naira you took from him/her like 50 times, that one who signs for you in class even when you don’t ask him/her to, when you were ill who sat by your sick bed?, that person who made you smile in adversity?, some people will say 'bae', but i do no think so, what of those who do not have the so called 'bae', there were some people who stood by them, they are the FRIENDS, those ones that always feign the “busy” state and then they taking a nap or watching series.

How do we become so busy that we forget about individuals that once played vital roles in our lives? imagine if they were not there, having all the good things of life won't give you that divine satisfaction or joy, relationships and friendships will.

There was a time i didn’t have any friends (male or female), i was too much of a gentle person in secondary school, didn’t speak to anyone till i felt i needed it and then i had to pay one guy 200 naira every break time to be my friend, this is so hilarious, whenever i think of it i just laugh at myself, haven’t really said this to anyone except my immediate friends and they were all surprised that day.

But now i want the whole world to know how valuable friends are when you have them, you feel like throwing them away, but when you don’t have them, you end up missing them, then the worse of it all is when you end up with the fake ones, the ones who will drain you and leave you empty, i reject them and i advise you reject them immediately Lol!!!

As my boss would say “All we have at the end of the day are our family and friends.. And contrary to what you may think, they won't always be there”

Go make some real friends today, those ones who have always been there, they can't be there forever, and appreciate those who have been there a little more-Mannie Quotes.
