IGP Ibrahim Idris impregnated serving female police officer - Senator Misau
The lawmaker representing Bauchi central, Isah Misau, has alleged that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, impregnated a serving Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Esther, an act which he says contravenes the police act.
Raising through order 43, Misau, a former Police officer explained that he was attacked by the Inspector General of Police because he revealed corrupt activities under the current IGP.
Misau added that the IGP is having affairs with two policewomen whom he has given special promotion. “The IG is openly having two relationships with police women which he gave special promotion.
One of them is Amina and one of them is DSP Esther which the IG on 15th of last month got married to. Under police act and regulation you cannot marry as serving woman police unless that woman retire.
He quickly did a secret wedding in Kaduna because the lady is four months pregnant. As a former Police officer, I can say authoritatively that it is wrong for an officer to have a relationship with female Police officer because of the nature of that work”, Misau insisted.
Misau said this on the floor of the senate on Wednesday while drawing the attention of the lawmakers to the disagreement he is having with Idris.
The lawmaker faulted the manner which promotion of officers were being handled by the current IGP of Police, adding that officers pay as much as N500,000 to get promoted.
Misau sought the intervention of Senate to look at the situations, where single powerful individuals could have close to 30 Police officer guarding them, while commoners living in communities do not have police around them.
