Photos from President Buhari's unannounced visit to Maiduguri

For Nigeria's 57th Independence anniversary celebration, President Muhammadu Buhari visited Maiduguri, Borno state capital unannounced some hours after his nationwide broadcast.

The President celebrated the nation’s freedom with the troops at Maimalari Military Cantonment.

He was received by Gov. Shettima of Borno State, some service chiefs and Traditional rulers.

President Buhari has since returned to Abuja.
